Trademark Office: Reminder on Guarding Against Fraudulent Collection of Postage by Sending Registered Trademark Documents by Mail

2026-06-15

Recently, our bureau received reports from trademark applicants that some unscrupulous individuals were posing as the trademark office and, under the pretext of sending paper "trademark announcements" and other documents to the applicants, defrauded the applicants of varying amounts of prepaid postage.

To protect the legitimate rights and interests of all applicants, we hereby specially remind you that the trademark announcements of our bureau after May 2016 have been issued in electronic form and no physical trademark announcements will be sent out anymore. All notification documents sent by our bureau to applicants do not require any payment from the applicants. Please, all applicants, be vigilant and guard against fraud to avoid property losses.
