This is the third time! Seoul Semiconductor initiates patent infringement lawsuit against Mouser's sales of Everlight LED products
Recently, Seoul Semiconductor, a world-renowned professional LED manufacturer, filed a patent infringement lawsuit against Mouser, a global electronic component distributor, and its Italian subsidiary for the sale of Everlight LED products in a court in Milan, Italy. According to the content of the lawsuit, Seoul Semiconductor claimed that Mouser Electronics must be held responsible for the sales of its Everlight LED products. Based on the alleged infringement, Seoul sued for permanent injunction, damages, withdrawal from the market and destruction of such products.
In fact, the patent litigation between Seoul Semiconductor and Mouser Electronics dates back to last year. In 2017, Seoul Semiconductor filed two patent infringement lawsuits in the District Court of Düsseldorf, Germany, accusing the Everlight high-power and medium-power LED products sold by Mouser as infringing products. However, after Seoul Semiconductor filed two lawsuits against Mouser Electronics, Mouser Electronics still sells products suspected of infringement in other countries. Therefore, Seoul Semiconductor initiated the third patent infringement lawsuit against Mouser Electronics in Italy.
It is understood that Seoul Semiconductor is a professional semiconductor manufacturer in South Korea. It ranks among the top five in the global LED industry. It currently has more than 10,000 related patents in the semiconductor field. It has independently developed unpackaged LEDs, multi-structure chips, DC and AC can drive four innovative technologies including Acrich and UV sterilization, leading the development of the global LED field. Since winning a patent lawsuit against Rongchuang of Taiwan in 2003, Seoul Semiconductor has successively initiated more than 50 patent battles in the United States, Europe, Japan, South Korea and other places, all of which ended in victory. It is worth mentioning that since September 2016, Seoul Semiconductor has issued patent infringement warnings to 29 companies around the world targeting lighting, television and other manufacturers. These 29 companies include 15 mainland Chinese companies including Skyworth, 4 Taiwanese companies including AOT Rongchuang, and many European and American companies such as Feit.
